Puppy Dreams and Literary Tales: Celebrating Rafa’s Newest Companion

I am so excited! There’s probably nothing I love more than Catherine Kapphahn, her family, (my family), puppies, someone’s dreams coming true, the perfect birthday gift being given or received, and celebrating someone’s joy of having a dream come true, as if it was your own dream!

OK, so the list could go on it but you get my drift I’m excited to share this awesome news!

Rafa got a dog! Not just any ole dog! A puppy he wanted the fool on dog guardian/companion experience. A dog from puppyhood. And the puppy that he and his mom searched for and fell in love with.

Introducing Perseus “Percy” Jackson from Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. One of Catherine sons’s favorite books!

I just realized my adorable dog hunter was in love with a giant horse named Percy! Named after the same character in the same series of books!

Yes, it’s true there are kids and young adults that still read actual books! The endangered species one holds manually manipulates by turning paper pages.

Sure, they are antiques. Relics from the last millennia.

But books are possibly the most precious and amazing thing humans ever invented.

Books are intimately linked to one of the greatest gifts the Creator of the Universe gave us. The ability of language, reading, and writing!

In the history of humanity, what percentage of every human ever born develop a part of their brain to read and write? 

The printing press was only invented 575 years ago. Public education in the United States didn’t take hold until the late 19th century. However, master children didn’t go to scorpion, primary or elementary school. My grandfather eighth grade education my grandfather included.

So let’s celebrate every child we know who loves to read. And Encourage every child we know to read.

Oh Rafa, I hope one day you read, “Where the Red Fern Grows, and “Old Yeller.” But for now just play with your puppy.
